About Doula Diksha
I am a German native born and raised in Cologne. I moved to Colorado in 2001 where I married my husband, Jerry and had my first born son Yuri in 2005 .We are living since 2006 in Olympia, WA where my daughter Celena was born in 2008. Both of these were natural home births with the support of a doula. We took The Bradley Method birthing class in Colorado for our first birth and HypnoBirthing with Pat Sonnenstuhl for our second which was extremely helpful. Beginning in 1996 I studied Rebalancing massage, Shiatsu, Multidimensional bodywork and became a Reiki Master. I have almost 10 years of experience as a massage therapist which can be a huge benefit for supporting moms and their family during labor. After having had 2 wonderful empowering births myself I felt strongly about finding a way in supporting families through such a powerful and truly transforming important time. I am a believer in the strength women discover through labor. My goal is to support women and their partner's values in this transformational, powerful time. As a doula I provide a woman and her partner with continuous emotional, physical and informational support, before, during and after birth. I offer a loving touch, positioning and comfort measures that make childbearing women and families feel nurtured and cared for. I am a CD(DONA) Birth Doula DONA International and received my training from Seattle Midwifery Shool . I'm also a Advanced Holistic Doula certified through TheMatrona I assisted Stacey Callaghan for 82 hours of her Childbirth Education classes. I highly recommend her classes for all expecting families. I took Breastfeeding for Doulas with Sarah Huntington and continues education classes with Whapio, Diane Plilgrem a Midwife from the east coast. Beginning of 2010 over a time of 4 month I took a Advanced Holistic Doula Training with Whapio , Diane Pilgrem which went even more into the depth of the understanding of labor and birth, anatomy and physiology, sexual wisdom, postpartum and the newborn, breastfeeding, and homeopathy and herbs for the childbearing year. . I wish you a Blissful Initiation into Parenthood! "Truly, every birth is a rite of passage. In her own way, every mother in labor, without exception, lives the mystery of her physical, psychological and spiritual transformation-whether she births by candlelight at home, in an operating room, in the car, or in a birth hut hidden in the jungle." ~ Pam England~
